About Sierra Harrop
Sierra Harrop makes Red Dirt and Americana music about Trans and Queer people enjoying meaningful and fulfilling rural lives. Raised in Oklahoma by a working-class family, her songs value grit and resilience while telling blue collar tales through the lens of being LGBTQIA+. She brings small town characters and situations to life with vivid storytelling and searing music that is as melodic as it is twangy.
Harrop was raised on 90’s radio country, soul, gospel, rock and Americana. She spent her early adulthood active in the Oklahoma Red Dirt and Texas Country scenes of the Early 2000’s. After a media career with time in Oklahoma City, Los Angeles, and Maryland, she put down roots in New England in 2023.
She is an avid outdoors enthusiast, a certificated pilot, and has been to all the Lower 48 States. Her 2000+ book personal library informs her songwriting.
Harrop plays 8 instruments and is currently working on her debut studio album. She got her start performing at an open mic night in Terlingua, Texas in January 2026 after a large concert she attended in Stillwater, Oklahoma the year before inspired her to make music again for the first time in decades. Her songwriting heroes include Roger Clyne, Evan Felker, Woody Guthrie, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Brandon Jenkins, Robert Earl Keen, James McMurtry, Dolly Parton, Townes Van Zant, among others.
Harrop lives with her girlfriend along the Connecticut River, a few miles south of the Massachusetts state line.
